Raco Wholegrain: Rat and Mouse Killer The professionals choice!
People always query the use of poisons in their home as they are worried about rats or mice dying in areas that are difficult to get to, and the possibility of them dying in inaccessible places. Probably 1 in 10 rodents die in cavity walls or suspended ceilings, and a further 1 in 10 of that number would be noticed. If it is noticed, Rentokil deodorant sachets are available to take away the smells. Ready-to-use Rat and Mouse Poison.
Raco is a highly attractive rodent poison which both rats and mice find irresistible! It has an aniseed attractant for fast uptake and contains Bitrex and the fast acting difenacoum poison.
Bitrex is the most bitter substance discovered. Only the smallest amounts of Bitrex is required to make the product taste unpalatable. Rodents however are unable to taste it, making it exceptionally good rodenticides. Difenacoum acts by ceasing the production of blood clotting agents. It promotes internal bleeding of the rodent as the pest is unable to heal bruising. The rodent becomes more tired and lazy and often dies within its nest. It is possible that non-targeted animals are at risk through direct consumption of bait and via eating poisoned rodents. Difenacoum poisons are one of the preferred choices of rodent bait for both indoor and outdoor use as to reach the toxic or lethal dosage the non-targeted species must consume a relatively large amount of the bait. Secondary poisoning is rare as well as wildlife studies have shown that predator birds rarely take dead poisoned rodents. They may however take poisoned but not dead rodents. If this is the case, it is rare that secondary poisoning will take effect as the dosage is too low. In essence, unless poisons are used constantly and irresponsibly, non-targeted species shouldn’t be in danger. In cases of poisoning, Vitamin K1, may be given to help restore blood clotting factors.
Raco Wholegrain is a loose grain bait so Baiting Trays are required. If using outdoors a Rodent Baiting Stationis required as well as Baiting Trays to place inside the station. If using indoors with no other pets or livestock, open trays can be used. Bait tubes can also be used to safely apply to poison in gardens.
For rat infestations use bait points of 50-100 grams. Place bait points 10 metres apart, reducing to 5 metres in cases of high infestation. For mouse infestations use bait points of 10-20 grams and place bait points at 5 metres, reducing to 3 metres in cases of high infestations.
We highly recommend not to leave poisons down for any more then 12 weeks without a thorough inspection. Always read the label.
